Seeds of Spring:A Woman’s 40 Day Devotional

Day 9
Planting and Tending Your Garden
SEED OF TRUTH
Read Ephesians 1:15-23.
What does Paul pray for the church in Ephesus and for Christians everywhere? Go back and read His prayer knowing that, as one of God’s adopted “sons,” Jesus prays for you each day (Hebrews 7:25). Imagine Jesus praying this prayer for you. Replace the word “you” with your name and quietly recite this passage to yourself. Believe this as true.
PLANT THE SEED
Quietly recite today’s focus verse to yourself. Hide it in your heart and meditate on it throughout the day.
Ephesians 1:18-19
“Having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe.”
WATER THE SEED
Take Paul’s prayer and pray it for your family members and for a close friend. Pray it for a friend you see seeking after the Lord with all of her heart, soul, mind, and strength. Now pray it for yourself. Just as Paul prayed for the Ephesians and the church, remember that Jesus prays each day, each hour, and each moment for you. Ask Him to help you see things through His eyes. Remember to “water this seed” throughout your day. Grow truth in your heart until you have a full garden of faith and righteousness!
BEAR THE FRUIT
Pray that I will know him fully.
CLOSE IN PRAYER
Ask the Lord to bring to life all that has been planted in your heart today.

For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all Godʼs people, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

“Ways”

The precepts and promises of GOD are here given to “US All”.  “ALL” those who thirst after happiness that these things are given to you.

Isaiah 55:6-9, Luke 13:25-27- 16:26, Ezekiel 16:5-6, Jeremiah 31:18, Isaiah 55:1

6. Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:

7. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will Abundantly pardon.

8. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.

9. For as the Heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

The Suffering Servant

Isaiah 53:1-6

Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed? 2. For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. 3. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities:the chastisement of our peace was upon him;and with his stripes we are healed. 6.  All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
