Seeds of Spring: A Woman’s 40 Day Devotional

Day 34
Planting and Tending Your Garden
Read Ephesians 6:13-17.
The Lord will most likely allow circumstances in your life that will test you. Will you have faith or will you be afraid? Is there anything in your life that is putting your faith to the test? What do you fear? Where are you being challenged to put your trust in the Lord? Tell the Lord these things and then put on the full armor of God. Apply every piece of armor to fight this battle. Refer to yesterday’s devotion if necessary.
Quietly recite today’s focus verse to yourself. Hide it in your heart and meditate on it throughout the day.
Ephesians 6:14
“Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness.” (NAS)
This passage in Ephesians tells us to gird our loins with truth. God has given us His word as our shield. The truth has been given to help protect us from lies. We are bombarded by untruths in our culture – on the news, in movies, and on TV. As you go through your day today, be attentive to the thoughts that cross your mind. Be aware of the things you hear on the radio or read in the paper. You have been given supernatural armor, so put it on! Gird your loins with the truth of God’s word before you leave your quiet time. Put on your armor and be ready.
Stand firm.
Ask the Lord to bring to life all that has been planted in your heart today.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
