Planting and Tending Your Garden
SEED OF TRUTH
Read Ephesians 2:11-16.
Look again at verse 12. What words does Paul use to describe our position before Christ? But what does Paul say in verse 13 that has changed all that?
PLANT THE SEED
Quietly recite today’s focus verse to yourself. Hide it in your heart and meditate on it throughout the day.
“But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.”
WATER THE SEED
In 1 Peter 2:10 we are told, “Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.” So often we find ourselves feeling as though we are unable to draw as near to the Lord as we would like. There seems to be a wall or a chasm. As you meditate on your scripture today, focus on the truth that the Lord has brought you near, the curtain has been torn in two, and you are able to enter into His throne room at anytime. Make the most of your day today by reciting this scripture over and over and choosing to believe what it says instead of how you feel.
BEAR THE FRUIT
Brought near by the blood of Christ.
CLOSE IN PRAYER
Ask the Lord to bring to life all that has been planted in your heart today.
Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
