What did you about the Lord when you were a child?
What has changed in your view of Him since then?
Have the changes all been positive? If not, why not?
As for me he was my friend I was five years old, I remember because my foster father wanted to adopt me and I told him and the case worker Ms. Wilson no. Needless to say they ask why? I told them Jesus said you were going to die and was going home. But I asked Jesus if I could to with you and he said no. I asked why? He said he had something for me to do. I said okay what was it? And he said not now it is not time. So I said okay, well that was 48 years ago. I’m still waiting except that now I’m writing about Jesus Christ with the hope that other people will find him. And not do as I did. I got so angry with Jesus that I walked away from thinking I could run this race call life all by myself. Well I’m here to tell you, No you can’t do anything without Jesus Christ. It took me 40 years 8 wars later to realize Yes I Need Jesus Christ in my life. Let me put it this way when I fell on my face, I fell hard this time what brought me back to Jesus, I had a stroke and heart attack. Listen people when God, Jesus, or the Holy Spirit want your attention sometimes, not all the time, they will knock you dead on your butt. A few years ago my youngest son when through the same thing except he had seizures, not heart attack and stroke. But what he told me was enough to make him give all his blessings to Jesus. Do not do as I did talk with Jesus even if it is to just say the greeting of the day.
Seeking a Blessing
And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it they rebuked them.
Do Not Hinder
But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God
Verily I say unto you, whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a child shall in no wise enter therein.
How can children be hindered from entering into the Kingdom?
Why does one need childlike Faith in order to enter the kingdom?
And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.
But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not :for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a child shall in no wise enter therein. And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.
What was Jesus emotional response to the disciples restrictive actions?
How does Jesus want us to imitate children in our faith?
What is the difference between childlike and childish faith?
How could your faith be more childlike?
What does it mean to “receive the Kingdom”?
Our faith is tied to our understanding of God’s faithfulness. Like a child, we are called to trust and rest firmly in His care, to hear His word, then trust it; however, the confidence to do so relies upon our willingness to completely surrender. Like a child free of care, we are no longer burdened by the weights that we were 8ntened to shoulder alone when we allow our trust to firmly rest in the faithfulness and loving care of our heavenly Father.
How childlike is your faith in God?
Where are you not trusting Him completely?
With the faith of a child, renew your trust in Him and fully receive the Kingdom.
