My Place In God’s World

God knows you better than anyone.

He knows when you sit down, and when you stand up again. He knows how many times you blink your eyes every day, how many steps you take, and how it feels to wiggle your toes.

But God doesn’t just know about you – like you know the answers for a test, how to spell a really long word, or like you know the weather outside.

The Bible says that God is “acquainted with” all of our ways. That means that God knows you better and deeper than anyone else.

He knows what you dream about and what you hope for.

God knows what makes you sad and what makes you happy.

He knows what makes you scared and what makes you feel strong.

God loves to know you.

Isn’t it awesome how God knows us so well?

To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.
1O Lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.
2Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
3Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.
4For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.

What is the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen?

What did you say when you saw it?

Sometimes, people don’t know what to say when they see something beautiful.

Some people say “Wow!”

Other people might say “Whoa!” or “I can’t believe it!”

Sometimes they just smile.

The Bible says that you are “fearfully and wonderfully made.” From your fingerprints to your funny bone, God made you perfectly.

Imagine that God is a sculptor making a beautiful vase: As He starts to work, He sits back to make sure it’s right, and He smiles. He didn’t make any mistakes or do anything wrong. He didn’t leave anything out. God made you exactly the way He wanted to.

But it gets better: God made you special. No one else looks exactly like you. No one else does things exactly like you do.

Isn’t it incredible that God made you different from everyone else?

13For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.
14I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

God made you for a special purpose – something only you can do.

The Bible says that all of your days “were written – every one of them” before you were even born! Because God made you and knows you, He has great plans in store for you. You may not know what any of those plans are yet, but you’re going to love them.

Imagine that God wrote a book about you. He thought about you as He wrote it. He spent extra time, making sure everything was just right. He knows what’s on the next page He can’t wait for you to get there.

God has an exciting adventure planned for you. And the best part is that He’s promised to walk with you every step of the way!

What do you think God wants you to do?
