  1. Does this mean brother in Christ or does it mean any other human being? If Jesus could question who is my brother ? who is my mother? just what is John saying here?

    • It means loving person. Each person on earth is our brother and sisters. Many people may not believe in Jesus Christ, however we are to do as he commanded. As he loves us we are to love each other.

      • Thats by far the best interpretation.
I ask these questions because the Jewish race is so insular and it contains the seeds of Christianity.
I believe Jesus Christ broke free of his Jewish origin and universalised the idea of a loving God.

Ones Jesus was born we fell under grace. Jesus words are so simple a child understand. So when the Jews asked who is my brother his response was simply everyone is your brother, everyone is your sister, your mother, your father. Love your brother as I loved you and before you loved yourself. The problem we have today many Jews, Muslim, and Christian do not realize we are under Grace and not the law of God. So our brother and sister whether they believe or not in Jesus Christ who gave his life for all of us, Loves all of us.

          • But look carefully at this ‘whosoever shall do the will of God’ now ask yourself does that include everyone?
The next question for me is to consider the aguments that rage continuosly among Christians as to who does the will of God?
What is the will of God?

The way I understand it to be, everything we do that is good that is, we are lead by God. For instance, doing something good for another without thought or reason, just because it is the right thing to do. Being a good listener, a help mate, a graudian, a friend. What ever lead you to help or do good for someone other than yourself. Service to others your love for the one living God. The best way I can answer your question is read the ten commandments of what not to do. Therefore all else is okay. But please don’t quote me, I could be wrong as I read my bible and study I don’t always get the same answer. Each reading means something different each time. That is only because it pertains for different purposes.
