For many years now, I have notice that people tend to drink everything but water. People drink everything from sugary drinks such as cool aide, fruit drink, and soda, tea-coffee (although there is nothing wrong with drink tea or coffee) just not all day, beer, and hard alcohol.

Because our bodies are made up of 70% water, we need to keep those levels up. When you perspire you lose about a cup (6-8oz), depending on how much you perspire . In the summer you tend to perspire more than in the winter but, you still perspire. For every hour you sweat you must replace the water lose by 2 glasses. So with a ruff calculation you should be consuming about 2 to 3 gallons a day. However most people including myself, only drink maybe 2 gallons.

I cannot speak for everyone but I drink at least 2 gallons a day every day. I have found that the less water I drink I am prone to kidney stones.  Therefore, it is imperatives that I drink as much water as possible.

Water removes harmful toxins from the body

Water helps our body by removing many different types of toxins. Water flushes toxins and waste from the body through urination and perspiration. Water helps reduce constipation which aids in bowel movements which ensures that waste are removed quickly and regularly before they can become toxic to the body. This waste buildup can occur in the body if dehydration becomes to regular. This can cause headaches, toxicity and illness. Drinking enough water will also lessen the burden on the kidneys and liver by flushing out waste products.

Water a good transportation port for nutrients and mineral to the body

Blood is about 92% water and it carries all your nutrients, minerals and oxygen throughout the body. Nutrients and minerals from the food we eat are broken down in the digestive system where they become water-soluble, which means they are dissolves in water. In addition to the daily maintenance of our bodies, water also plays a key role in the prevention of disease. Drinking eight glasses of water daily can decrease the risk of colon cancer by 45%, bladder cancer by 50% and it can potentially even reduce the risk of breast cancer. And those are just a few examples!

Drinking to your health

Since water is such an important component to our physiology, it would make sense the the quality of the water should be just as important as the quantity. Therefore, your drinking water should always be clean and free of contaminants to ensure proper health and wellness. Remember it is also never too late to improve your health with the help of regular exercise, a well balanced nutritional meals and a positive outlook on life. The human body is very resilient and if you treat yourself well, you will be surprised by your body’s own natural ability to heal itself. Here’s drinking to your health and achieving your goals.
